A Clinical Study of the PAP Poultice(Papsalon^(¢ç)) in Orthopedic Patients

Abstract
This study was based on the application of the PAP poultice(Papsalon¢ç) 81 patients suffering from low back strain, contusion, sprain, degenerative arthritis etc.
Papsalon¢ç poultice distributed evently on lint, 20 to 40 gm a day, had been applied topically for 1 to 2 weeks.
The findings of the study were as follows:
1. Out of the 81 cases, 30(37.0%) showed a marked imprrovement, 36(44.5%) showed a moderate improvement and 10(12.3%) showed a slight improvement. The overall efficasy rate was 93.8%.
2. Subjective symptoms were marked improved in all cases of contusion and sprain within l week.
3. No specific side effects were presented except itching and heat sensations.
Topical application of Papsalon¢ç on acute sports injury is effective as an emergency measure with other physical therapies and is especially indicated for patients with gastro-intestinal disorders.
